Translation Process
Workflow
At BBFrench Translation, we have developed an efficient project workflow that is designed to accommodate our clients’ needs, maintain quality standards, and function with any project timetable. Our procedures are adaptable based on project parameters, ensuring that we can handle most conceivable permutations of French translation.
For a general overview of our project workflow, take a look at our workflow diagram by clicking here.
Step 1: The Free Quote
This step represents the beginning of your interaction with us. When you contact us for a free quote, we collect enough data about the project in order to provide you with an accurate estimate of the costs involved. Whether you prefer to send us a copy of your document so that we can review it ourselves, or simply supply us with the relevant details, our project managers can provide you with a free quote within one business day. To view more details about how to receive a free quote, click here .
Step 2: Order Placement / Payment
You will receive your free quote, along with a copy of our order form, via email. To proceed with the translation, simply fill out the form and return it to us. We can also accept long-term translation projects via Purchase Order, following a credit application / review. If you have not already done so, this is the time to send your documents over to us, via fax or email. We will also collect glossaries, notes or other supplementary materials from you at this point. For more information on how to do this, please click here .
Step 3: Translator Selection
Once we have confirmed the receipt of your payment and the documents to be translated, we select the translator who will perform your translation based on a number of criteria. For more information on our translator selection process, see below.
Step 4: Translation
Our expert translators create a hand-crafted translation of your document in the target language of your choice. Once the translation is complete, the translator will forward it to our proofreaders and project managers for review.
Step 5: Proofreading and Quality Assurance
Our seasoned proofreaders review and correct your document, ensuring that the spelling, grammar, and formatting meets our quality standards. The proofreader then forwards the translation back to the project manager who is handling your case, who will double check both the translator’s and the proofreader’s work. If either the proofreader or the project manager feels that our quality standards have not been met, the translation will be sent back to the beginning of Step 4 or Step 5, accordingly.
Step 6: Delivery
Once the final translation has been approved by the proofreader and the project manager, we will prepare it for delivery to you. If you requested certification or notarization, our project manager will affix the seal, stamp, signature and contact information of the translator to the final document, and / or obtain a notary’s seal and signature. If you require a hard copy of the completed translation, we can ship it to you via FedEx, but if not, we will return it to you in the electronic file format of your choice via email.

We have designed this workflow to be adaptable to contingencies. Should your project require any modifications once it has reached the translation stage, we will gladly review your changes and incorporate them into the final translation. (Additional fees may apply for extensive changes.) In the event of a delay, we will notify you immediately of any changes in your project’s timetable. If you are unsatisfied with the finished translation that we deliver to you, simply send it back to us and our translator will make a second pass, incorporating any corrections or suggestions you might have. Projects that are resubmitted for translation will also undergo another round of quality assurance review from our proofreaders and project managers.
Our Project Managers
The project managers at BBFrench Translation are happy to assist you in any way possible. Our project managers follow your project from beginning to end, handling our communications with you and tracking the status of your translation. When you contact us for a quotation, a project manager will collect the information about your project and compile your quote. During the translation process, a project manager will field your calls, handling all of your concerns and questions. They are also responsible for following up on your project after its completion, collecting valuable feedback that we will use to help us conduct future translations.
Translation Resources
BB French translation uses the highest quality translators in the industry. To accomplish this, we devote our time and resources to the recruitment and management of our translators. We use only native speakers of the target language, translators with tested, proven linguistic skills, as well as extensive knowledge in their specialty subject areas.

Translator Selection
At BBFrench Translation, our strict translator selection criteria help to provide you with high quality translations by ensuring that the translator who works on your project is qualified. Based on our records of prior performance, we will assign your project to the best available professional translators based on the following list of requirements. The translator selected must:
- Be a native speaker of the target language.
- Have current, in-country experience of the source language
- Have a university degree in his or her area of expertise, as well as a minimum of five years of professional experience in the field of translation.
- Present proof of his or her educational background and certifications.
- Present reverences from clients or a referral from another trusted contractor. These references are extensively checked.
- Present examples of translation work in his or her area of expertise, which are submitted for evaluation to leading translators.
Once the above requirements have been met and verified, translation applicants are required to take tests in their area of expertise. Only translators approved in our recruitment process are appointed to our team.
Translators are screened not only for language ability, but also for technical knowledge, ability to follow instructions, and on-time delivery. Certifications from leading certificate granting associations in the US are also required as a proof of readiness to work with our clients.
